The St. James Pastoral Council is made up of at least 12 appointed members of St. James parish who are active and practicing Catholics. The Council normally meets one time per month between the months of September and June.The Council serves in an advisory capacity to the Pastor and gives counsel and advice on:
(a) Unifying the parish community by promoting communication and understanding, and in some instances, coordinating activities and events,
(b) Analyzing and prioritizing the future needs of St. James parish in light of the Gospel and Church tradition,
(c) Energizing the St. James community by exerting leadership, inviting broad participation ministry, involving the laity more intimately in parish life and in witnessing their faith in all circumstances and situations,
(d) Building and renewing the Council's faith dimension by providing opportunities for councilors to deepen their relationship with Christ both as individuals and as a community, and
(e) Building and renewing the parish's faith dimension by providing opportunities for spiritual growth to all St. James parishioners.
