St. James Catholic Preschool opened in September 1992.  We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C.)  

PHILOSPHY:

Our goal at St. James Catholic Preschool is to provide opportunities for each child to grow socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, and creatively.  We strive to create a warm and loving environment where children can learn about themselves, gain an understanding of others and develop their self-esteem.  Each child is treated with acceptance, encouragement, and respect for his or her individuality.  Our hope is that each child will feel successful, develop the ability to think creatively, make decisions, solve problems, and interact with his/her peers in positive ways.

 

Each class offers varied activities in art, language, music, movement, science, outdoor play and cooking.

Our teachers will provide lesson plans developed around themes or special topics of interest for a particular age group.

All of our activities are selected on the basis of providing sensory experiences, social experiences, and mental stimulation.

The children will attend chapel once a week.  This will provide an opportunity to share basic Catholic Christian concepts through age-appropriate songs, prayers, and stories.
 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

 

The preschool has four classrooms available.  The classes are for potty-trained children who are 2 ½ to 5 years old.   Pre-K applicants must be four years old by September 1 but not 5 years old by Sept 1 to be eligible for our Pre-K program.

CLASS HOURS:

Morning Classes:  9:00AM - 11:45 AM    OR    Afternoon Classes:  12:30 PM - 3:15 PM

PROGRAM OFFERINGS:

OPTION #    NUMBER OF SESSIONS PER WEEK  --  TUITION RATE (2012-2013)

         1     Two mornings (Tuesday & Thursday) -- $225 per month
         2     Three mornings (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) -- $310 per month

                (for children 3 yrs old by Sept. 1) & (for 4 year olds)
         3     Five mornings (Monday through Friday) PRE-K only -- $465 per month
         4     Three afternoons (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) -- $310 per month

                (for children 3 years old by Sep. 1)
         5     Three afternoons (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) -- $300 per month

                (for 4 year olds)

There is a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee due when an application is submitted.
