In an effort to promote vocation awareness, the St. James Parish Vocation Committee will bring vocation events to St. James and will make parishioners aware of upcoming vocation events within the Archdiocese.
In order to continue our work, we need some more parish members to help. The St. James Parish Vocation Committee fosters and affirms ordained and lay vocations to the priesthood, brotherhood, sisterhood, permanent deaconate and lay ministry. The ultimate goal is to have a parish member studying for the ordained and lay ministry at all times. Participation on the Vocation Committee will only require an hour or so each month. If you want to help, please call Terry or Kathy Benson (310-379-4649).
Please pray for Vocations!!
Prayer For Vocations
Good and gracious God,
you have called us through Baptism to discipleship
with your Son Jesus Christ,
and have sent us to bring the Good News of salvation to all people.
We pray you to grant us more priests, deacons,
religious brothers and sisters and lay ministers
to build up your Church here within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Inspire our young men and women
by the example of Blessed Junipero Serra
to give themselves totally to the work of Christ and His Church.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen!
